Job Description

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile before procedures.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery and provide appropriate nursing care.
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure details according to established protocols.
• Handle, count, and document surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within the scope of nursing practice.
• Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to the surgical team.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and nursing interventions.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative education and support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education and training.
