Job Description

  • Assess, identify, implement, and monitor patients’ medical care plans and treatments in collaboration with physicians, allied health professionals, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Perform systematic patient assessments and reassessments, collecting relevant clinical data regarding the patient’s health condition and needs.
  • Analyze assessment findings to identify actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and care priorities.
  • Define expected patient outcomes and develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Record and monitor vital signs, promptly recognizing, addressing, and escalating abnormalities when necessary.
  • Maintain and continuously update clinical and technical nursing competencies in accordance with evidence-based practices.
  • Promote patient health, safety, and a therapeutic care environment through appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of diagnostic tests, laboratory investigations, and related procedures.
  • Perform essential life support procedures, including Basic Life Support (BLS), in compliance with regulatory requirements and scope of practice.
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Safely administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic effects, adverse reactions, and side effects.
  • Administer treatments including IV fluids and blood products while monitoring patients for any complications or reactions.
  • Provide effective wound care management and support patient recovery.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare professionals during invasive and non-invasive medical procedures as required.
  • Facilitate safe patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes while ensuring continuity of care.
  • Maintain competency in all mandatory and unit-specific training and competencies assigned through the Elsevier platform to ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures, equipment handling, and departmental protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing educational programs, certifications, and professional development initiatives to support continuous learning and maintain clinical competency.

Job Skills

  • Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all the qualifications and experience these mandates.
  • Manage their own professional re-licensure.
  • Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card. 
  • Be willing to work across departments and on call necessary.
