Assistant Nurse-OPD

Job Description

• Assist doctors and registered nurses in providing patient care within the Outpatient Department (OPD).
• Prepare consultation rooms and ensure medical equipment and supplies are available and functional.
• Welcome patients, verify their details, and guide them through the consultation process.
• Record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and weight.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures as directed by the physician or nurse.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as required.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow within the OPD.
• Provide basic patient education regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up appointments.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and infection control standards are maintained in the clinical area.
• Assist in specimen collection and transportation according to established procedures.
• Monitor stock levels of medical supplies and report replenishment needs.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and escalate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.
• Adhere to hospital policies, patient confidentiality requirements, and healthcare regulations.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional standards of practice.
