Job Description

• Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and cooperation during imaging.
• Position patients correctly to obtain the necessary images.
• Operate X-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Adjust and control the equipment to produce high-quality images.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, themselves, and other staff members.
• Use lead shields and other protective equipment.
• Ensure the clarity and quality of images, making adjustments as needed.
• Recognize and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
• Communicate effectively with other medical staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, procedures, and results.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and professional standards.
• Pursue ongoing education to stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology.
• Respond appropriately in emergencies and provide immediate care when needed.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability of imaging equipment.
• Educate patients about the imaging procedure, preparation, and aftercare.
• Engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences or workshops, to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to changing technologies and work environments.
