Job Description

  • Provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
  • Ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
  • Ensure positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an environment that enables team engagement
  • Manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care
  • Monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Lead obstetric emergency preparedness and response across the unit, ensuring the team is drilled, competent and ready to manage clinical emergencies at any time
  • Plan and manage capacity, staffing and patient flow proactively in response to growing unit activity, escalating and adapting resourcing as demand changes

Job Skills

  • Essential: At least 3-5 years’ senior nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital
  • Desired: 5-10 years senior midwifery experience, including experience managing a high-volume Labour and Delivery service
  • Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)
  • Presentation Skills
  • UAE Labour Law
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Cost management principles
  • Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice)
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings effectively
  • Quality management and governance standards and best practice
  • Risk management principles, systems and best practice
  • Skilled in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures
  • Stock control principles and management
  • UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements
  • Workforce planning and scheduling
