Job Description

  • Serves as a diagnostic radiological consultant to physicians.
  • Interprets all types of general radiological examinations. Interprets and performs examinations requiring fluoroscopy, special procedures, angiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI scanning within the limits of his/her training, experience, and clinical privileges, and with the approval of the Chief of Radiology.
  • Participates in physician conferences and rounds.
  • Works closely with radiologic technologists and, when appropriate, instructs them on specialized views and patient positioning when unusual or difficult cases arise.
  • Participates in the hospital’s Quality Improvement Program to meet international standards.
  • Provides on-call emergency coverage.
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new technologists and radiologists.

Job Skills

  • Graduate of an approved medical school with a valid license to practice medicine, or certification by the American Board of Radiology, possession of FRCR (Canada) in Diagnostic Radiology, English FRCR, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Specialized training and/or a minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing radiologist.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical ethics, particularly the obligation to maintain patient confidentiality; a professional personality that inspires confidence and trust in patients; and adherence to the Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
  • Current medical license in the country of origin and a valid DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers, superiors, patients, and their families.
