Specialist Radiologist

Job Description

• Ensure that departmental documents describe the current and planned services provided by their department, guide the provision of identified services and address the staff knowledge and skills needed to assess and to meet patient needs.
• Ensure that services are coordinated and integrated within the department and with other departments.
• Recommend space, medical technology, equipment, staffing, and other resources needed by the department or service and have a process in place to respond to shortages.
• Recommend criteria for selecting the department’s or service’s professional staff and choose or recommend individuals who meet those criteria.
• Participate in the appointment, credentialing and privileging processes of the doctors of the department as well as in their reappointment and renewal of clinical privileges.
• Ensures that new clinical staff members are oriented to the department and to their job responsibilities and any specific assignments, and provides orientation and training for all staff of the duties and responsibilities for the department or service to which they are assigned.
