Specialist Pulmonology

Job Description

• Performs the professional duties of a Pulmonologist in adherence to the Delineation of Privileges depending on the efficiency and skills of the individual.
• Answers in-patient consultations from medical or other in-patient services.
• Orders diagnostic laboratory and X-ray examinations, determines the diagnosis, prescribes applicable therapy, and takes necessary preventive medicine.
• Reviews journals and textbooks to stay current on the latest techniques, procedures, and therapy.
• Participates in continuing in-service training programs, physician conferences, and other relevant activities.
• Responsible for the proper practice of infection control guidelines in all clinical areas.
• Keeps current with emergency techniques as they emerge and evolve.
• Active participation and sustained qualification in all cardio-pulmonary resuscitation programs.
• Attends staff meetings and weekly rounds, and participates in in-service activities as required, including Morbidity & Mortality conferences, Peer Reviews, and other relevant activities.
• Performs additional duties as designated by the Head of the Department.
• Complies with all OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperates with hospital management to meet these requirements.
• Works in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, and specific responsibilities.
• Familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Notifies OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, and assists with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
• Complies with waste management procedures and policies.
• Attends applicable OSH/infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs.
• Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
