Job Description

Provides the full range of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to patients both the inpatient and outpatient.
Handles consultations of cases referred to him from other services by offering clinical advice or assuming full responsibility of the care.
Contributes to the orientation of physicians, psychologists, nurses and other Medical Organization personnel in the early detection, recognition, management or referral of psychiatric cases.
Participates in the continuing medical education for physicians and nurses by talks in staff meetings, presenting cases in ward rounds, and lecturing to nurses.
Participates in teaching and quality assurance programs.
Takes after hours or weekend calls as required by specific cases or in emergency situations as requested.
Follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Job Skills

At least five (3) years of practice as a psychiatrist after certification.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. He / she must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice Psychiatric Medicine in Dubai, UAE.
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
