Job Description

• Determine the appropriate mode of treatment for the patient, utilizing available or prescribed diagnostic resources when necessary.
• Provide effective treatment based on the best available evidence and refer the patient to another practitioner or specialist when it is in their best interest.
• Consult with colleagues and seek advice when needed to ensure optimal care.
• Prescribe medication(s) or treatment, including repeat prescriptions, only when sufficient knowledge of the patient's health status is obtained, ensuring the prescribed treatment aligns with the patient’s needs.
• Ensure all patients are entitled to care and treatment that meets their clinical needs, and never refuse treatment due to medical conditions that may pose a risk.
• Adhere to high standards of clinical consultations and conduct thorough physical examinations.
• Recognize and work within the limits of personal clinical knowledge and competence.
• Take necessary actions to minimize risks before providing treatment or make suitable alternative arrangements for emergency situations, considering personal safety, competence, and the availability of other care options.
• Provide all relevant information about the patient, including medical history, investigation results, treatment provided, and current condition, when referring a patient to another healthcare professional, following referral protocols.
• Take full responsibility for personal professional practice and be prepared to justify decisions and actions.
