Specialist Neonatology

Job Description

• Perform professional duties in neonatology, including providing specialized care to newborns.
• Conduct daily rounds in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and newborn nursery, performing examinations and procedures within the scope of neonatology.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays, determine diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate care, including nursing, dietary plans, and preventive measures.
• Provide in-patient care for newborns and attend high-risk or cesarean deliveries as needed.
• Offer consultative neonatology services and technical assistance for pediatric cases; assess and determine eligibility for neonatology admissions.
• Stay updated on the latest neonatal care techniques through review of medical journals and participation in training programs.
• Participate in in-service training, teaching activities, physician conferences, and committee meetings.
• Provide care in the pediatric outpatient clinic for babies up to one year of age, addressing both wellness and illness.
• Deliver on-call emergency coverage for pediatric and neonatal emergencies.
