Job Description

• Decide on the appropriate mode of treatment for the patient, utilizing available and prescribed diagnostic resources when necessary.
• Provide effective treatment based on the best available evidence, and refer patients to other practitioners or specialists when it is in the patient’s best interest.
• Consult and seek advice from colleagues when required to ensure optimal care.
• Prescribe medications or treatments, including repeat prescriptions, only after acquiring sufficient knowledge of the patient's health status and ensuring the treatment meets their needs.
• Ensure that all patients are entitled to care and treatment that meets their clinical needs, and treatment should not be refused based on any potential risks posed by the patient's condition.
• Adhere to high standards of clinical consultations and perform thorough physical examinations.
• Recognize and work within the limits of your own clinical knowledge and competence.
• Take necessary actions to minimize risk before providing treatment and make suitable alternative arrangements in emergency situations, considering your safety, competence, and the availability of other care options.
• Provide all relevant patient information, including medical history, investigation results, treatment provided, current condition, and any other necessary details, when referring a patient to another healthcare professional, and follow the referral protocol.
• Take full responsibility for your professional practice and always be prepared to justify your decisions and actions.
