Job Description

  • Perform the professional duties of an Otorhinolaryngologist, including a variety of ENT, head, and neck surgeries, in alignment with established standards and protocols.

  • Provide consultation services to other physicians regarding cases within the scope of ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgery, diagnosing and treating conditions that fall within the specialty.

  • Complete and maintain accurate medical records for all patients, documenting diagnoses, treatments, and future plans of care. Medical records must adhere to institutional requirements and regulations.

  • Actively participate in group conferences to provide expert opinions and insights for difficult or complex cases within the realm of ENT and head/neck surgery.

  • Collaborate with other departmental staff to plan and implement programs that integrate curative and preventive aspects of comprehensive patient care.

  • Take responsibility for the operation of approved curative and preventive programs related to ENT and head/neck conditions.

  • Address and resolve issues arising from daily operations, including technical challenges, safety concerns, and incident management.

  • Monitor and evaluate the work of assigned staff within the Otorhinolaryngology service, ensuring the quality, quantity, and accuracy of work. Provide guidance and training to staff as necessary.

  • Attend staff meetings and actively engage in in-service training activities as required.

  • Communicate with the Head of Department (HOD) to clarify issues or keep them informed of any unusual situations or challenges encountered, along with the actions taken.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and any administrative matters of a confidential nature.

  • Demonstrate dependability in fulfilling all professional commitments and responsibilities associated with the position.

Job Skills

  • Education and Training:

    • Graduation from an accredited medical school, followed by one year of internship and three years of residency in Otorhinolaryngology.

    • Certification by the American Board of Otorhinolaryngology or Membership in the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of three (3) years of practice as an Otorhinolaryngologist following certification as a licensed specialist.

  • Language Proficiency:

    • Excellent command of both oral and written English, as it is the primary language for documentation and communication within the healthcare setting.

    • Knowledge of the Arabic language is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Skills and Competencies:

    • Highly skilled in Otorhinolaryngology with sound clinical judgment, the ability to provide professional leadership, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient care.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Department's policies and procedures, particularly with respect to confidentiality and ethical practices.

    • A personality that inspires confidence and trust in patients, with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain professionalism at all times.

  • Professional Standards:

    • Must adhere to the Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of the Medical Organization and maintain the highest level of professional conduct.
