Job Description

• Responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, plans, SOPs, clinical guidelines, and pathways of the department.
• Responsible for implementing a unit-specific quality improvement and patient safety program or initiative.
• Responsible for identifying, selecting, and monitoring measures specific to the department or service, assessing data, planning changes, and sustaining improvements in quality and patient safety.
• Responsible for ensuring complete and timely training and education of staff on quality improvement processes such as infection prevention and control, emergency disaster response, fire safety, Hazmat, spill management, and other related areas.
• Responsible for monitoring and coordinating the quality improvement and patient safety program and initiatives.
• Responsible for monitoring incidents and sentinel events, taking action to improve safety in response to these events.
• Responsible for supporting a culture of safety program and implementing, monitoring, and taking action to improve the program in the department.
• Responsible for carrying out evaluation and performance appraisals for staff in the department.
• To perform the professional duties of an endocrinologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
• Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Otorhinolaryngology service.
• Ensures and performs professional duties of an Otorhinolaryngologist.
• Provides consultation to other physicians on problems related to ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgery, including diagnosis and treatment if the patient's primary problem is in this field.
• Completes medical records promptly, indicating diagnosis, treatment, and future courses of action, and ensuring records conform to established requirements.
• Participates in all group conferences requiring the viewpoint and opinions of this specialty regarding difficult medical cases.
• Coordinates with the Medical Director in planning programs and integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.
• Oversees, monitors, and participates in quality assurance programs as requested by the Medical Director.
• Prepares and submits to the Medical Director for approval the daily work schedule, weekend schedules, ER on-call schedule after working hours, personal leaves, and vacation.
• Supervises the correct and efficient use of supplies and equipment to reduce expenditure and eliminate waste.
