Job Description

  • Evaluate patient health history and physical condition before surgery

  • Identify risk factors and optimize patients medically

  • Select the appropriate type of anesthesia (general, regional, local, or sedation)

  • Discuss anesthesia risks and gain informed consent

  • Safely administer anesthesia medications tailored to the procedure and patient

  • Monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.)

  • Maintain airway and respiratory function using equipment (e.g., ventilators)

  • Adjust anesthesia levels throughout surgery

  • Ensure patient safety and comfort

  • Quickly respond to emergencies like allergic reactions, hypotension, or cardiac events

Job Skills

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • MD/DO in Anesthesiology, or equivalent specialty training (e.g., FRCA, FANZCA)
  • Specialization in areas like pain medicine, cardiac anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia
  • LiMust hold a medical license + anesthesia specialty registration (e.g., GMC, AMC, DHA, HAAD, MOH depending on country)
