Job Description

• Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. This includes induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Utilize specialized knowledge and skills in cardiac anesthesia techniques to provide anesthesia for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries and procedures, such as open-heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, and valve replacement.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments to evaluate patients' medical history, current health status, and anesthesia requirements. Monitor patients closely during anesthesia administration, ensuring vital signs remain stable and responding promptly to any changes or complications.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes. Communicate effectively to provide updates on patients' status and respond to any emergent situations during surgery.
• Implement effective pain management strategies for patients post-surgery, including the administration of analgesics and monitoring pain levels to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines for anesthesia administration, including proper use of equipment, adherence to infection control measures, and compliance with regulatory standards such as those set by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting anesthesia procedures, patient assessments, medications administered, and any adverse events or complications encountered during surgery.
• Stay abreast of advancements in anesthesia techniques, equipment, and medications through ongoing education and professional development activities. Participate in training programs and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of cardiac anesthesia.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and proficiency in Arabic language skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering a positive and inclusive healthcare environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and outcomes within the anesthesia department. Contribute feedback and suggestions for process improvements to optimize workflow and efficiency.
