Job Description

  • Defines and maintains the enterprise clinical integration architecture, standards, design principles, interface patterns, and technology roadmap in alignment with organizational strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Designs scalable and reusable integration solutions connecting the Electronic Medical Record, clinical applications, ancillary systems, imaging platforms, medical devices, financial systems, patient portals, mobile applications, and external healthcare networks.
  • Evaluates integration requirements and recommend appropriate technologies, standards, and architecture patterns based on clinical criticality, security, performance, maintainability, and business continuity needs.
  • Provides technical design authority for major clinical systems implementations, expansions, migrations, upgrades, mergers, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Leads the design, development, implementation, and optimization of integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR, DICOM, IHE profiles, APIs, web services, messaging technologies, and other healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Ensures consistent implementation of patient identity, encounter, order, result, medication, scheduling, billing, document, and clinical data exchange workflows across enterprise systems.
  • Establishes interface specifications, data mappings, terminology standards, validation rules, error-handling processes, and integration documentation.
  • Supports compliance with DHA, NABIDH, JCI, health information exchange, data privacy, and organizational information governance requirements.
  • Develops and governs integration testing strategies covering unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, failover testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Validates message content, data accuracy, patient identity, workflow outcomes, error conditions, system acknowledgements, and downstream clinical availability before production deployment.
  • Leads technical review and approval of integration changes through established change-management and release-governance processes.
  • Maintains version control, deployment documentation, interface inventories, test evidence, rollback procedures, and post-implementation validation records.

Job Skills

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in healthcare integration, clinical systems, software integration, health informatics, or enterprise application architecture.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a senior integration architect, technical lead, interface architect, or equivalent healthcare technology role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise healthcare interfaces using HL7, FHIR, DICOM, APIs, and interface-engine technologies.
  • Experience integrating Electronic Medical Records with laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, cardiology, medical devices, finance, patient portals, and external health information exchange platforms.
  • Proven experience in integration architecture, technical design, system implementation, data migration, testing, production support, and incident resolution.
  • Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner or another major enterprise Electronic Medical Record platform is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting DHA, NABIDH, JCI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and healthcare information governance requirements is preferred.
  • Experience within a tertiary, multi-site, or JCI-accredited healthcare organization is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead vendors, technical teams, analysts, and multidisciplinary stakeholders through complex integration initiatives.
