Registered Nurses Cath Lab Services

Job Description

• Assist cardiologists and physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, and catheterization.
• Prepare patients for procedures by conducting assessments, obtaining consent, and explaining procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
• Ensure proper setup, calibration, and functioning of cath lab equipment and instruments.
• Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
• Administer medications, including sedation, as prescribed and monitor patient response.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, or complications during procedures.
• Assist in post-procedure care, including patient monitoring, sheath removal, and managing recovery.
• Document all procedures, patient conditions, medications, and nursing interventions accurately.
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure availability of required equipment in the cath lab.
