Assist in all aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and electrophysiology studies.

Prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures, explaining processes and addressing concerns to ensure informed consent and comfort.

Monitor and document patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition before, during, and after the procedure.

Administer medications and IV sedation as per physician orders, observing for any adverse reactions or complications.

Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the catheterization lab, strictly following infection control protocols.

Collaborate closely with the interventional cardiologist, radiologic technologist, and cath lab team to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of care.

Assist with the operation and troubleshooting of cath lab equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems, imaging equipment, and defibrillators.

Provide post-procedure care and monitoring in the recovery area, ensuring patients are stable and comfortable prior to discharge or transfer.

Accurately document all nursing activities, procedures, medications administered, and patient responses in the medical record.

Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions such as code blue situations and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure care, medications, lifestyle changes, and follow-up appointments.

Participate in the stocking and preparation of the lab, ensuring all supplies and equipment are ready for upcoming procedures.

Adhere to all hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure the highest level of patient safety and quality care.

Engage in continuous education and training in cardiology nursing, staying up-to-date with evolving techniques and technologies in cardiac care.

Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in audits, case reviews, and process enhancement related to cath lab operations.
