Participate in the maintenance and care of specialized equipment, including endoscopes, electrosurgical units, microscopes, and phaco machines, ensuring proper decontamination and accurate traceability.

Accurately maintain the count of surgical instruments, swabs, and needles, and ensure all instruments are sent for cleaning and disinfection according to hospital policies.

Demonstrate competency in surgical hand-washing techniques and infection control practices within the operating theatre.

Monitor patients post-anesthesia to ensure optimal recovery, utilizing the Aldrete scoring system when applicable.

Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate documentation of all relevant patient records, following hospital policies.

Demonstrate proficiency in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.

Adhere to hospital policies regarding waste segregation, disposal, and inventory management of medications, including high-alert drugs and narcotics.

Ensure appropriate storage and inventory control of hazardous materials, including maintaining the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as required.

Follow reporting mechanisms and the chain of command for patient care issues, ensuring quick and accurate communication.

Take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Charge Nurse, managing ward stock efficiently and economically.

Participate in fire safety, patient safety, infection control, and other precautionary measures according to hospital policy.

Take responsibility for professional clinical practice, engaging in ongoing education and training.

Serve as a member of the hospital's code black team, participating in emergency response protocols.
