Job Description

  • Enter new and refill prescription orders accurately into the pharmacy database/system.
  • Verify patient and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure all prescription data complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications and inventory details.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and technicians to clarify unclear prescriptions.
  • Process billing and submit insurance claims through pharmacy software.
  • Resolve data entry errors and communicate issues with the appropriate team.
  • Handle phone calls from patients, physicians, and insurance providers professionally.
  • Support inventory management by logging medication receipts and usage

Job Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or medical office preferred. 
  • Knowledge of computer excel and data entry work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle busy periods
