Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, binocular vision, and eye health.
• Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids to correct vision problems based on patient needs and lifestyle considerations.
• Provide personalized recommendations for eye care, including preventive measures to maintain optimal ocular health and minimize the risk of eye diseases.
• Perform specialized procedures such as fitting specialty contact lenses, orthokeratology, vision therapy, and low vision rehabilitation for patients with visual impairments.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists, primary care physicians, and opticians, to ensure comprehensive patient care and appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Stay updated on advancements in optometric technology, treatment modalities, and industry trends through continuing education and professional development activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, examination findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Educate patients about proper eye care practices, including the importance of regular eye exams, protective eyewear, and lifestyle factors affecting ocular health.
• Adhere to professional ethics, legal regulations, and standards of practice governing optometry to ensure the highest quality of care and patient safety.
