Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive medical care and management to elderly patients, focusing on age-related health issues

  • Conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans

  • Monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, dementia, and cardiovascular disorders

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, and pharmacists

  • Evaluate functional status, cognitive abilities, mental health, and social support systems of geriatric patients

  • Prescribe and manage medications, minimizing polypharmacy risks and adverse drug reactions

  • Counsel patients and families on preventive care, lifestyle adjustments, and long-term care planning

  • Coordinate rehabilitation and palliative care services when needed

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure documentation complies with healthcare regulations

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to staff education on geriatric care best practices

Job Skills

  • Completed residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Fellowship or specialized training in Geriatric Medicine

  • Valid medical license in practicing country or region

  • Board certification in Geriatric Medicine (preferred)

  • Minimum 2–5 years of clinical experience in elderly care (may vary by employer)

  • Current BLS/ACLS certification (as required)
