Fire & Safety Assistant

Job Description

• Collaborate with the safety officer to develop and implement emergency response plans specific to healthcare settings.
• Conduct regular drills and training sessions for healthcare staff to ensure they are prepared for emergencies.
• Inspect and maintain fire prevention equipment, such as fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and fire alarms.
• Monitor and enforce fire safety protocols and regulations within the healthcare facility.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and recommend improvements to mitigate potential hazards.
• Develop and communicate evacuation plans for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Coordinate and conduct evacuation drills to test the effectiveness of evacuation procedures.
• Ensure that evacuation routes are clearly marked and well-maintained.
• Perform regular safety inspections of healthcare facilities to identify and address potential hazards.
• Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with infection control teams to ensure compliance with safety protocols related to infectious diseases.
• Implement measures to prevent the spread of infections within the healthcare facility.
• Provide ongoing safety training to healthcare staff, including training on fire safety, emergency response, and infection control.
• Keep staff informed about safety regulations and updates relevant to healthcare settings.
• Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, drills, and training sessions.
• Report safety incidents and near misses, and collaborate with relevant parties to investigate and implement corrective actions.
• Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations related to fire and safety in healthcare settings.
• Ensure that the healthcare facility is in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Serve as a point of contact for safety-related concerns and inquiries.
• Collaborate with other departments to foster a culture of safety throughout the healthcare facility.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into the healthcare facility's safety program.
