Consultant ENT, Head & Neck

Job Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with ear, nose, throat, and head & neck disorders. This includes taking detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Formulate accurate diagnoses based on patient assessments and diagnostic test results. Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition, which may include medications, therapies, or surgical interventions.
• Perform surgical procedures related to ENT and head & neck conditions. This could involve surgeries such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, sinus surgery, thyroidectomy, parotidectomy, or other head and neck surgeries.
• Specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, including cancers of the throat, larynx, thyroid, salivary glands, and other structures. Coordinate with oncologists and other specialists for comprehensive cancer care.
• Provide ongoing care for chronic ENT conditions such as chronic sinusitis, allergies, hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, and voice disorders. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Respond to ENT and head & neck emergencies such as acute infections, facial trauma, airway obstructions, and other urgent conditions. Provide timely and appropriate interventions to stabilize patients and prevent complications.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Empower patients to actively participate in their healthcare and make informed decisions.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including audiologists, speech therapists, oncologists, radiologists, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Engage in clinical research projects to advance knowledge in the field of ENT and head & neck disorders. Participate in academic activities such as teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts within the healthcare facility, implementing evidence-based practices and protocols to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
