Job Description

Nutritionist will play a pivotal role in promoting health and wellness by providing expert nutritional guidance and personalized dietary plans to individuals with specific health concerns or conditions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to contribute to the development and implementation of nutrition interventions, fostering positive lifestyle changes for improved patient outcomes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Group Strategy:

  • Implement action plans to promote person centred care in your area.

Evaluation:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients to identify dietary needs and potential health risks.
  • Analyse medical histories and laboratory data to tailor nutrition plans to individual health conditions.

Individualized Nutrition Planning:

  • Develop and implement personalized dietary plans based on patients' medical conditions, lifestyle, and dietary preferences.
  • Educate patients on the importance of nutrition and its impact on health.

Collaboration with Healthcare Team:

  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition interventions into overall patient care plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and modify nutrition plans accordingly.

Patient Education:

  • Provide clear and concise nutritional education to patients and their families, emphasizing dietary modifications and lifestyle changes.
  • Offer guidance on food choices, portion control, and meal preparation.

Monitoring and Follow-up:

  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
  • Conduct regular follow-up sessions to assess compliance and address any challenges patients may encounter.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of nutritional assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Ensure timely and thorough documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.

Research and Continuous Learning

  • Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of clinical nutrition.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to enhance the quality of nutrition services provided.

Reporting

  • Ensure preparation of reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the departmental requirements, policies, and standards.

Related Assignment

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by HOD
  • Participate in hospital committee, task-force meetings and other meetings as required.

Personal Requirement
The candidate for this role must possess unwavering integrity, initiative, and evidence of good health and grooming. A person of good moral character with a strong and pleasing personality, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills is sought. Participation in organization-wide activities without hesitation or personal reservation is expected. A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, the ability to work effectively under stressful conditions, and a willingness to work extended hours for emergency cases are essential. The candidate should demonstrate the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic healthcare environments.

Job Skills

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field  

Training: Completed 50 Hours of Continuous Learning in Clinical Nutrition within the Past 12 Months

Experience

  • Minimum of Four (4) years of clinical nutrition experience
  • Experience in working with diverse patient populations and addressing a range of health conditions

Licenses: DHA and/or MOH licensure, in accordance with local regulatory requirements
 
Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth understanding of nutritional principles, human physiology, and biochemistry.
  • Proficiency in using nutrition assessment tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills

  
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is essential, and Arabic language proficiency is preferred
