Clinic Support Assistant

Job Description

• Assist Physician in clinic including accessing, adding, and modifying the patient medical records under the physician’s supervision.

• Request the necessary investigation for the patient.

• ssist the provision of high-quality care to patients and their families under the direction and supervision of the Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwifes.

• Demonstrate a range of skills to meet the needs of patients whilst promoting dignity, privacy, and respect.

• Provide a range of healthcare and non-nursing duties, ensuring efficient and effective service to the ward/department at all times.

• Assist with administration and non-nursing duties.

• Perform basic care under the direction of Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife.

• Assist all patients who are able, towards independence and activity under the direction of the physician/Registered Nurse/Midwife.

• Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients call and requests; reporting observation of the patient to the team leader.

• Assist patient transfer to other departments.

• Accompany patients who are ready for discharge.

• Transport equipment and patient records between departments.

• Support the registered nurse staff and ward clerk in the clerical, administrative and receptionist duties in the ward.

• Assist in maintenance of stocks and non-medical supplies.

• Develop and utilize good communication skills and receive and pass on telephone message.

• Correctly use aids and equipment supplied for patients. Report needs and obvious defects of this equipment to the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in charge.

• Cover the duties of the ward clerk in absence.

• Advice the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in charge of malfunctioning equipment.

• Liaise with the Registered Nurse/ Midwifes in charge in the assessment of equipment and medical consumable items requirements.
